A unique learning and networking opportunity for all parrot experts and keepers to exchange knowledge and best practice on feeding, nutrition and behaviour of parrots.
Following the success of the PFMA Rabbit Symposium in 2018, PFMA will be holding the second pet-specific seminar and discussion forum, this time all about the family of Psittacidae or parrots and their nutrition, health and management when kept in captivity.
Objectives of the Symposium
• To provide the latest knowledge on parrot (and pet birds) nutrition and welfare
• Opportunity for all attendees to take part in discussions
• To identify key educational messages and next steps in scientific research
• A networking opportunity for parrot/bird professionals, keepers and enthusiasts

Format of the Symposium
There will be a series of talks, from avian and nutrition experts, on different aspects of parrots and indoor birds' health and welfare in relation to nutrition and feeding behaviour. There will also be group discussions and a panel Q&A session to identify key outcomes of the event. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day and there will an opportunity to visit the zoo after the symposium.
