The Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association (PFMA) Launches an Associate Membership Offering

PFMA, the trade body for the UK pet food industry, has launched a new Associate Membership category. For the first time in fifty years, those working closely with the pet food sector can now apply to become an Associate Member.

Over the years, PFMA has been approached by machinery and packaging companies, consultants, retailers, and various service providers keen to engage, this new membership category will facilitate that.

PFMA currently has 97 members including manufacturers and ingredients suppliers. Members account for over 90% of the UK pet food market. Michael Bellingham, PFMA Chief Executive advises: “We see this as a really positive move forward for the Association. It will mean greater networking, engagement and collaboration for those both directly involved and associated with the pet food industry.”

Companies interested in Associate Membership can build a package suitable to their needs selecting from a range of membership features. Michael Bellingham continues: “We have developed the Associate Membership package with a range of options to ensure inclusivity enabling organisations both small and large to get involved.”

More information on Associate Membership is available at: www.pfma.org.uk/associate-membership

The pet food industry: Playing a part in sustainability and reducing carbon emissions

The pet food industry is very mindful of the role it plays in the responsible use of resources, including minimising wherever possible the environmental impact of pet food production. Pets are part of the family and bring numerous benefits to society. Pets instil responsibility,
encourage social awareness, and contribute to wellbeing. As an industry, we have a responsibility to balance the needs of the population (pets and people) with protecting the environment for future generations.
