Leading pet food trade body welcomes innovation growth partners Think Incentives in to Associate Membership

Leading pet food trade body welcomes innovation growth partners Think Incentives in to Associate Membership

The leading pet food body, PFMA, is delighted to welcome in to Associate Membership, Think Incentives (TI).

The leading pet food body, PFMA, is delighted to welcome in to Associate Membership, Think Incentives (TI). TI will bring a wealth of insight, guidance and support around innovation funding, incentives and patenting dedicated to businesses and individuals operating in the pet food sector.

George Shi, Director of Innovation Support at Think Incentives, added:

The innovation funding landscape can quickly become a difficult space given the complex interrelationships between grant funding, tax incentives and intellectual property. These complexities create pitfalls that must be avoided – but they also present opportunities for the discerning.

With professional backgrounds in both engineering and ‘Big Four’ consulting, we work closely with businesses to intrinsically understand and optimise their innovation goals. For example, that might mean grant funding a new vegan product formulation, advising on tax incentives associated with the development of manufacturing processes, and applying for a patent to benefit from the patent box regime. We operate as a partner, not a service provider.

Michael Bellingham, Chief Executive at PFMA, comments:

It's wonderful to have Think Incentives on board as our most recent PFMA Associate Member. They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge which will support our members with their work in all four of our sustainability priorities – packaging, ingredients, the impacts of the manufacturing process and animal welfare.

We look forward to the series of free innovation support seminars that Think Incentives will run for our members this year.

The first informative webinar for members will be announced shortly.

The pet food industry: Playing a part in sustainability and reducing carbon emissions

The pet food industry is very mindful of the role it plays in the responsible use of resources, including minimising wherever possible the environmental impact of pet food production. Pets are part of the family and bring numerous benefits to society. Pets instil responsibility,
encourage social awareness, and contribute to wellbeing. As an industry, we have a responsibility to balance the needs of the population (pets and people) with protecting the environment for future generations.
